2005 - A Summary...Soon to be a Memory

This is a blog I had written earlier as a tribute to our superb class on my msn space. But, I think that it deserves a far more important position here on my blogspot! Hope you enjoy it as I shall treasure this forever...

Ahoy there folks! Yes I'm back....MUHAHAHA...ahem...anyways.....where was I? ah yes...hey u guyz....the winter hols have started and so has the partying!!! I have just returned from Rudins fab birthday party (Had a blast, buddy!)...And in this very 'eagerly anticipated' blog, I shall bore you to death by giving you my comments on various issues of global concern... assuming of course in this case that 'global' would refer to our lives at school and school ONLY! lol! I hereby write this blog as a tribute to the year 2005...

Now, where shall I begin...

1. THE BEGINNING OF THE 11TH GRADE

For us graduating from the 10th was by itself an achievement...;)...of course 'elephants' comment would only be...ERMMM...

After an entire Year...i mean....week of gruelling preparation for our BORED exams...loll....(elephants comment at this point-HOW LAME!) we decided to take a 'well earned' (yeah right!) break...and ignored our books...much to Jo Jos dismay (Ohhh accha he said!)

2. THE BOARD EXAM RESULTS

The years most frightful day had arrived (No...Bush was not going to visit our school)...we were going to receive our board results! The day before had been a 'bunking day' and luckily for us our 'Sequences and Series' test in maths had been postponed! We reported to our 'kitchen' and waited for Murthy to walk in with our marks...and guess what!!-SHE DID

3. POST BOARD RESULT

After getting high on Baskin Robbins and lying on the Bur Dubai streets, laughing...We were now more relaxed and got to blame our 'board results anticipation' for our lack of interest towards our first term portion...All Hail the ICSE (Indian Council for Studying Excuses .... ;)-Vidhi at this point-'OKAY THEN!)

4. SUMMER VACATIONS

Well what can I say except LONGGGG and BORRRINNNGGG without my amigos!!

Also the reason I came up with our play... :D...They are truly HOLY-DAYS!!!( Loll...Then Rudin would say-'GO JUMP'...followed by a 'GO DIE' from Anjali and a 'KILL ME' from Little Miss 'Simultaneous' aka Kari...I of course could not say my usual..'GO FLY' as the lame comment has been made by me...

5. BACK FOR THE SECOND TERM

We happened to report back to school...(I still don't know how we manage to be thick enough to return)...and the work on our play for teachers day began...(which might I add proved later on to be an inspiration for many more of its kind...hint hint)

Harming Beta became a legend...and Ringtones became hell....(if u know what I mean, meenakshi ;)...lol)

6. UNIT TESTS AND CREATIVE FEST

With no more [or less...lol anjali that one was for u ;)...]...as I was saying with no more board exam excuses left to use, we were forced to study for our upcoming unit tests along with preparations for our annual creative fest! lol....u can imagine how 'studious' (note the obvious sarcasm) we were....of course some people are exceptions to that fact...namely (in one 'word')...ERMMM :P

The Creative Fest of course was a hectic experience but fun!! (except for the part where my MP3 was caught....courtesy, Tandon ;)...I was let off thanks to the fact that my reason (and mind you it was NOT an excuse) was legitimate and true...but that is another tale altogether :P

The fact that I, of all people, was given a security badge...showed that SOMEBODY had stolen the vodka we had smuggled in...perhaps Aarthi K's daily 'hot water' intake isn't what it seems to be...eh? (And that is how the cookie crumbles!)

Apart from the usual 'madness', this year we were in the school band...that's right...and no .... we DIDN'T lose! :S...we pushed our vocal cords as far as they could go...and in the end...the NA NA NA NA NA NAAA...payed off and we placed SECOND!! :D

Jokes aside, overall the festival was a success...Thanks to our 12TH Grade GENIUSES!

7. JILL THE RIPPER OF THE ANTI-TRIGO CLAN - THE JOHNY INCIDENT

After the creative fest there was little or no excitement in our smelly 'HELLS KITCHEN'...Save for the daring and unfortunately NOT deliberate antic of our pal Rudin aka Juhi, here...

It was a usual boring school day and we were PATIENTLY waiting for Mr. Johnny Abraham, our maths teacher. Rudin happened to be feeling a little unwell that day and after waiting for almost 20 minutes (so that she could bunk a bit by going to the clinic) came to the 'INTELLECTUAL' conclusion that she could wait no longer...Taking a dramatic stride towards the door and swinging it open she glared at us and bellowed..."If he (Johnny) is not here by the time I get back....I will KILL HIM!" And with that seemingly harmless threat she turned and started walking...only to bump straight into the man himself! Talk about bad timing!

We, of course, had seen him standing there all along and after failed attempts to warn Juhi (through eye contact)...watched helplessly as she collided with 'THE VICTIM'...What followed was a roar of laughter on our part and a thoroughly embarrassed Juhi gradually turning scarlet in the face! All poor Johnny could do was attempt to mask the evident fear in his usually calm face...He managed to mumble a feeble response to the 'dangerous' pupil...."Are you going to kill me, Juhi?"

Good question, if I may say so myself! ;)

8. THE EXAMS

9. THE SWIMMING MEET

Yes it ultimately happened after a lot of postponing....and YES I SWAM... :P Won 4 medals too....loll fashal to those people who fussed about me not showing up for practice...CYGNUS won overall! Fashal again...loll....

Congrats to my team....and everyone else who placed or just took part...n to Ju for ushering in the parents so WELL.... :P

10. THE RE-BIRTH OF KC & JO JO...AND THE BIRTH OF 'LEEN-DUH' (LINDA) AND 'DAHLIN' (CHAROLENE)

aka...Kapil Chowdhary and Johnny....(Private and Confidential...for 11th grade Science girls only.....

Also, Johnny's 'IDEA' of 'correct' pronunciation....leenduh and darlin or dahlin was born...God bless the English Language! :P ;)

11. THE CLEAN UP DRIVE

The idea was fantastic...but as for the venue and execution of the plan---all 'some' of us could say was ERMM....(you get the point)

Half the class spent the whole time relaxing at the top of the hillock...while the rest of us actually 'cleaned up' the UAE (If, of course, one would consider the UAE to be only a small area of the vast desert that it is :P)

12. THE BOYCOTTED EXCURSION AND THE BEST OF THE BEST

As a spokesperson and potential lawyer of my class..."We DID NOT i repeat DID--I mean DID NOT boycott our class excursion :P

The Best of the Best was awesome!! (Except of course for the part where, along with some others, My face was blasted on the screen...I was shown singing...LOLL..since when could I do that?! :P) Carol was great but Josephine was AMAZZINNNGGG!! We even got most of their autographs..(Don't laugh, some day they may just appear on Channel V or MTV....and I don''t mean on Bakra :S)

13. THE ONE ACT PLAYS

Ah...what an 'apt' coincidence...this point is number 13 [11TH GRADE Science girls and this time some commerce girls, will know what I mean ;)]

They were the worst plays ever written in the history of mankind...some were simply copied from plays before them or in the case of 'THE ARABIC GHOST PLAY'...it was copied from a joke book...loll...others just plain suckeddd!!

I am quite certain that none of us shall ever forget Mrs. Mehta and her 'dark circles' or the Rambo version of our ex-classmate on stage (God! How that girl hits!).

Just one quick question though, Did Caesar FINALLY just die?! ;)

14. AL MU'ATMAR (UNSC)

I thought I'd save the BEST for last! Definitely one of the most amazingg things I have ever experienced and I think you will all agree with me on this one!

From the sessions (where we watched everyone speak ;) ) to the chocolatte's n gorgeous treats! The Gala Dinner (Al Sahra) may have had me in a bit of a predicament but apart from the attire....It was FUN!

Whether it was Kaushik's constant presence behind the mike....all 38 modernites crowding around the latte maker or Jeetu doing the 'sofa-dive'....The memories shall be cherished by us all (girls and boys) for years to come...

15. LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

It Rocked...to say the least....we hogged...umm hogged... and guess what...we hogged some MORE...(Go Vidhi, Go!) Oh and btw Aarthy (T, that is)...the food will NOT come to you.... ;) Practically everyone wore Santa hats...and our new carol singing band...'Santas Little YELPERS' courtesy 'lame old me' :P was formed!

Then after the Cygnus House music tryouts...the 'gracious' Press Club forced us party animals to participate in their, in the words of Meenu, "LAME" :P essay writing competition, instead of letting me DANCE-A-LOT in the hall... You 'nosy reporters' owe me and the others BIG TIME...we even missed our buses home and had to stay back...which to tell you the truth, was a lot of fun! (Thanks to the muffins!)....Juhi, all three timing and all ;) :P

Alas, here we are at the end of this nostalgic journey through time....My God! Do you people have 'ANY IDEA' how late it is?!...Just as I thought..'NO IDEA'.. :P

P.S. this entire blog specially the last two lines can mainly be understood by and is meant specifically for the 11th Grade Science - Batch 2005...I love you guyz and will miss you a lottttt when we part our separate ways! :D
